The reader may have observed a grocery clerk preparing an order and will have noticed how familiar he was with the sections where the different items were located. This simple illustration will serve to describe the purpose of this text: To impart a general knowledge of the content of each book of the Bible so that we may know which of the sixty-six divisions of the Bible to select material from. This purpose has made necessary the method employed in this book, which is not to deal with details but with the main facts of each book.
